On 2nd September 2020, Amvar and Lift West officially joined forces to become Altegra Integrated Solutions Limited, a national provider of material handling and integrated solutions. We caught up with Malcolm Mitchell, Managing Director and Chris Exley, Sales Director at Altegra to find out more.
The new brand name symbolises the partnering of two trusted TCM dealers, Amvar and Lift West (Al-), paired with their mission to provide truly integrated (-tegra) solutions to businesses across the UK.

Offering truly integrated solutions
By combining their people and skills, Altegra is able to represent one unified brand that offers truly integrated solutions to business, going beyond providing the standard material handling equipment.
In addition to forklift trucks, Altegra also offers pallet racking systems and mezzanine flooring, door systems, access and security systems (as well as installation), workplace products, driver training, and more. In short, whatever your challenge, Altegra can help.

Over several years, Amvar and Lift West have both demonstrated that an integrated model and holistic approach to material handling is the most valuable for businesses.
Combining the two businesses was a natural next step: Amvar’s expertise in providing trucks and racking together pairs perfectly with Lift West’s experience in door systems and access and security systems. As a result, Altegra is able to offer an extensive product portfolio, helping customers to achieve greater value across multiple areas of their businesses.
Providing national coverage
As separate entities, the two dealers covered territories from Birmingham to Cornwall and South Wales, although they had also been serving national customers for some time, including the Southern home counties (e.g. Berkshire and Hampshire). Moving forward, Altegra’s vision is to become a truly national player catering to all customers across the UK.
Over the next year, Altegra will be focussing its efforts on the service aspect of the business, for example consolidating both groups of engineers into one unified force catering to customers’ requirements. Refining their structure and consolidating systems will equally be a key focus during the next financial year.
Altegra also aims to become an employer of choice in the industry, providing individuals with the skills and experience to excel in their careers. More significantly, Altegra has ambitious growth plans and is open to partnering with other like-minded businesses that share the same culture, values and ambitions.
